Abbey Road
Going to Abbey Road to visit the infamous crossing was a pretty cool experience.  To get there, just get off at St. John’s Wood Underground Station and it’s less than five minutes’ walk before you come around the corner to find all the other keen Beatles fans.  Traffic flows regularly so everyone who’s come for their own picture crossing the road sneaks out into the middle of the road before the next car comes along.  People from all parts of the world come to marvel at a crosswalk, respectfully taking turns with each other to get that “right” photo.  Frances got mine in the  second of three attempts.  For extra fun I went barefoot like Paul ;)  Though some might scoff at the idea of visiting such a place in all of what London has to offer, I can attest that it was  way more fun than any museum I’ve ever been to!
For reference, here’s Iain Macmillan’s original for the Beatles'  Abbey Road album cover . It’s also interesting to see  the alternative photos taken on the same day.
