I arrived at Brnik Airport just before midnight. The air temperature was hovering just above freezing; it was refreshing to breath in the clean, crisp air; such a change from busy London. Polona was there waiting for me! It’s so great to see her again after three years since I hosted her & Gašper in Whistler. Driving back to her family’s place in Medvode, we passed by cornfields and wild deer, the rest of the landscape cloaked by the darkness of night. This morning I woke up to fog outside my bedroom window. The country seemed to be slow to reveal itself to me but this morning Polona took me on a hike up to Sveti Jakob, a church built top of a nearby mountain. Above the fog we had a spectacular view for miles!
