Today was absolutely amazing. Together with Polona and her boyfriend Boštjan we drove from Ljubljana to Bled, a village easily recognized by the church built upon the tiny island on the lake. From Bled we went to Pokljuka and hiked halfway up the ski hill but the morning fog limited our view. Back down at the bottom we watched some biathlon training before heading for Triglavski Park to the Bohinj area. Fall has always been my favourite season and this particular trip’s timing was impeccable to take in all the beauty of the colours of the season! Driving through the park we stopped for pictures at Bohinjsko Jezero and from there continued up the valley to Slap Savica, a gorgeous waterfall. Several times this afternoon I found myself speechless at the awesome spectacle of Bohinj.
