Tuesday, June 23 San Vito Lo Capo to Isola delle Femmine

I was pretty tired this morning as I didn’t get quite a long enough sleep last night. I had crawled into my bunk a little after midnight. We got up fairly early in the morning and prepared to depart eastward again. San Vito Lo Capo has probably been my favourite place so far on the sailing trip. Winds were fairly calm during the day so we mostly motor-sailed, though we were able to turn the engines off for a couple hours of the journey.

We ate dinner on the boat tonight. The mosquitos were quite bad during our meal but disappeared after they finished theirs around the same time. So I wandered back into the town square and found a place to connect to wi-fi, have small gelato, and get caught up on some writing. Time to head back to the boat and get some rest. The plan for tomorrow is to continue east, past Palermo, to a small place called San Nicola l'Arena.
